CAF Women’s Champions League : Bayelsa Queens Qualifiers For Semifinals

Nigerian Women’s League Champions Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa on Sunday qualified for the Semifinals of the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League beating Wadi Degla by three goals to nil.

The Nigerians will now face AS FAR In the Semi-finals.

Bayelsa Queens came smoking in their final group game in the tournament holding in the Kingdom of Morocco.

The game was only 16 minutes when Juliet Sunday scored the opener for the WAFU Champions, who dominated the game all through the first half.

They continue their dominance in the second half leading to Itimi Mercy making it 2-0 in the 48th minute.

Mercy completed her brace five minutes later and with the win Bayelsa Queens become the first Nigeria side to reach semi-final of the competition.

However, it will be a tough battle as Nigeria champions confront the Moroccan side AS FAR in the semi-final of the tournament after finishing second behind Mamelodi Sundowns ladies of South Africa.

AS FAR topped group A having won all the matches in the group and garnered maximum of 9 points.
