Diogo Jota is OUT of the World Cup for Portugal after the injury he picked up for Liverpool against Manchester City.

Diogo Jota will miss the 2022 World Cup. The injury contracted in the final stretch of the game with Manchester City, last Sunday, will not be resolved in time for the player to integrate Fernando Santos' squad for the competition that starts on November 20, in Qatar.

The 25-year-old Portuguese international underwent an MRI and, although the results have not yet been released, BOLA knows that the break time will be longer than a month, completely ruling out the possibility of Diogo Jota being called to represent Portugal in the World Championship. Diogo Jota, it should be noted, has 29 caps for Portugal, having scored 10 goals.
